Cairo Vacation Packages: Nine Private Itineraries, Compared Honestly
Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Saqqara, Alexandria and the Nile cruise route, from $150.
Search for Cairo vacation packages and you will get roughly four hundred results that all promise the same six photographs. The hard part is not finding a package. The hard part is working out what you are actually buying, how many days you really need, and whether the price on the page has anything to do with the price you will pay.
So we have laid ours out plainly. We are Nile Routes, an Egyptian agency based a few minutes from the Giza Plateau, and this page lists every Cairo programme we currently operate: nine of them, with durations, lead-in prices, the sites each one covers, and the honest caveats about what still needs confirming for your dates. No filler, no "unforgettable journeys", and nothing invented to make a package look fuller than it is.
The short version
We run nine Cairo tour packages, from single-day shore excursions to a nine-day Egypt circuit. Prices start from $150 for a shore excursion and $165 for a Giza day tour. Almost every itinerary pairs the Pyramids of Giza with the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the longer packages add Saqqara, Coptic Cairo, the Citadel, Khan El Khalili, Alexandria, or a Nile cruise. All prices are lead-in rates, and your exact figure depends on dates, group size and itinerary.

What a Cairo Vacation Package Means When We Say It
Words like "package", "all-inclusive" and "deal" have been stretched so far by the travel industry that they barely hold shape. Here is where we stand, in plain terms.
Every package on this page is a touring programme: an itinerary, the sites it covers, and the way the days are sequenced so they actually work in a city where traffic decides your morning. Some are explicitly private. Some include a guide. The details differ from one programme to the next, which is exactly why we do not publish a single tidy inclusion list that would be wrong for eight of the nine.
What we will not do
We will not tell you on a category page that your flights, hotel nights, meals, entrance fees or insurance are covered. Those things vary by programme, and a promise made on a landing page is worth nothing when your itinerary lands in your inbox. What we will do is confirm the exact inclusions, the exact price and the exact sequencing for the tour you choose, in writing, before you commit to anything.
That is a slightly less glamorous pitch than "everything taken care of". It is also the reason our guests do not arrive at the Giza ticket window discovering a surprise.
Cairo Packages for Cruise Passengers: Sokhna and Port Said
If your ship is calling at Sokhna Port or Port Said, your Cairo trip is a logistics problem before it is a sightseeing one. You have a fixed window, a long drive at both ends, and no room for a coach that leaves when the last person turns up.
These four programmes are built around that constraint.

Cairo Day Tour From Sokhna Port: Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum
A private day built on the two things worth the drive: the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. We collect you directly from your ship at 08:00 and return you at the end of the day.

Trip to Pyramids and Cairo from Sokhna Port: 12 Hours
Our longer Sokhna option, private throughout, running port to Pyramids to Sphinx to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Lunch features in the day, so nobody is negotiating with a vending machine at 3pm.

Port Said Shore Excursion: Cairo Day Trip with Pyramids and GEM Museum
From Port Said, this is the fullest single day we can responsibly build: the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Khan El Khalili, sequenced so the bazaar lands when it is at its best.

Port Said Shore Excursion: Cairo Overnight Tour
Add one night and Cairo stops being a sprint. This programme covers the Giza Pyramids, the GEM Museum, the Cairo Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili across two days.
One practical note: the difference between the one-day and overnight Port Said programmes is not $100 worth of extra driving. It is the difference between one layer of Cairo and three. If your ship's schedule allows the overnight, it is the better trade.
City-Based Cairo Tour Packages: Two and Three Days
If you are already staying in Cairo, or flying in specifically, these are the two programmes that do the heavy lifting. One is dense and quick. The other is slower and goes deeper, with a private Egyptologist.

Giza Day Tour Egypt: Pyramids, Citadel of Saladin, Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili
The most sites per dollar in our range. It combines the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum with the Citadel of Saladin, Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili, so you leave having seen the city's three historical layers rather than one.

3 Day Cairo Tour: Pyramids, GEM Museum, Saqqara and Coptic Cairo
Our most complete Cairo-only package, with a private Egyptologist guide throughout. It covers the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo.
Why Saqqara changes the trip
Giza gives you the pyramids at their peak. Saqqara gives you the Step Pyramid, which is where the idea started. Seeing one without the other is like reading the last chapter of a book and calling it a story. Our 3 Day Cairo Tour is the only package in this range that includes both, and the private Egyptologist is what turns the comparison into something you will actually remember.
Cairo and Alexandria Packages: Adding the Mediterranean
Cairo is dust-coloured, ancient and relentless. Alexandria is salt air, Greek and Roman layers, and a sea breeze that arrives like an apology. Two and a half hours separate them, and no internal flight is needed, which is why this is the easiest extension we sell.

2 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour: Pyramids, Souk and Mediterranean
One day for the Giza Pyramids, the GEM Museum and Khan El Khalili, one day for the coast. If you want your trip to change scenery entirely halfway through, this is the cleanest contrast available.

3 Day Cairo and Alexandria Short Tour Package: Pyramids to the Mediterranean
The same idea with room to breathe, and a private guide. The itinerary takes in the GEM Museum, the Catacombs, Qaitbay Citadel, the Alexandria Library and Coptic Cairo.
The Full Circuit: Cairo, Nile Cruise and Luxor Packages

Plenty of travellers arrive intending to do Cairo and leave having done Egypt. It is a predictable slide, and we would rather plan for it than patch it on later.

9-Day Egypt Tour: Cairo, Alexandria, Nile Cruise and Luxor
Our longest programme in this category: the Giza Pyramids, the GEM Museum and Khan El Khalili, an Alexandria day, then south for a Nile cruise and Luxor. One booking, one operator, one point of contact.
If nine days is more than you have, a shorter Cairo package can still be extended south by short flight or overnight train onto the Aswan to Luxor Nile cruise route, with Luxor tours handling the temples at the other end.

Tell us your total nights, not your Cairo nights
This is the single most useful thing you can put in an enquiry. Designing a Cairo and Nile cruise package from the outset is cheaper and smoother than bolting a cruise onto an itinerary that was never built to carry one.

How Many Days Should Your Cairo Package Be?

Rather than a philosophical answer, here is the practical one, based on how our own programmes are built.
- One day. The Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. That is the day. Anything else you add, you subtract from these two.
- Two days. You now have a choice to make: go wider in Cairo with the Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili, or go outward to Alexandria. Both exist in our range; they suit different travellers.
- Three days. Saqqara becomes possible, and with it a private Egyptologist and a version of Egypt that has a chronology rather than a highlight reel.
- Nine days. Cairo, Alexandria, a Nile cruise and Luxor, which is the classic Egypt circuit most people picture when they start planning.
Notice what is missing from that list: the four-day and five-day "do everything" package. We do not publish one, because in a city where a thirty-minute drive can take ninety, the packages that promise the most tend to deliver the least of each. Our day tours are modular instead, in half-day and full-day blocks, so we can build the length you want without pretending traffic does not exist.
The Sites Inside Our Cairo Packages
A quick reference to what appears where, so you can match a package to what you actually want to see.
| Site | Where it appears in our range |
|---|---|
| Pyramids of Giza | Nearly every Cairo package we run |
| The Great Sphinx | Sokhna twelve-hour excursion; 3 Day Cairo Tour |
| Grand Egyptian Museum | Paired with Giza on every programme |
| Egyptian Museum | Giza Day Tour Egypt |
| Saqqara Step Pyramid | 3 Day Cairo Tour, with a private Egyptologist |
| Coptic Cairo | Port Said overnight; Giza Day Tour; 3 Day Cairo Tour; 3 Day Alexandria package |
| Citadel of Saladin | Port Said overnight; Giza Day Tour Egypt |
| Khan El Khalili | Across several itineraries, usually as an evening or half-day block |
| Alexandria: Catacombs, Qaitbay, Library | 3 Day Cairo and Alexandria package |

On Khan El Khalili: it is a working bazaar, not a heritage exhibit, and it behaves like one. It rewards an unhurried evening far more than a rushed midday stop squeezed between two monuments, which is how we tend to place it.
Day Trips You Can Add to a Cairo Package
Cairo also works as a base. Alongside the packages above, we operate a Fayoum tour from Cairo and a private Fayoum desert safari for travellers who want desert in a single day, a two-day Western Desert tour from Cairo, and Siwa Oasis programmes running two, three and four days.
Full details sit on each tour's own page. If you tell us which Cairo package you are considering, our team can tell you which of these combines cleanly with it and which would leave you spending your holiday in a vehicle.
How We Build Our Cairo Packages
Five things stay consistent across the range, and they are the reasons our itineraries look shorter on paper than some competitors' and longer in practice.
- Timing that matches reality. We build days around how long things take in Cairo, not around how many entries fit on a page.
- Private formats where it counts. Our Sokhna Port excursions are private, and the three-day Cairo tour and three-day Alexandria package include a private guide.
- Modular half-day and full-day blocks. This is what makes customisation practical rather than a sales line.
- Direct port pickups. We collect Sokhna Port guests from the ship itself, with the Cairo Day Tour departing at 08:00.
- Egyptologist guiding where specified. Named on the tour page when included, and not implied when it is not.

Which Cairo Package Suits You
Cruise passengers with a single day ashore. The Sokhna and Port Said excursions exist for exactly this: private transport, ship pickup, and a fixed return.
First-time visitors to Egypt. Giza Day Tour Egypt gives you the widest coverage at the entry price; the three-day Cairo tour gives you the same city with an Egyptologist and room to think.
Families and small groups. Private, modular days are considerably easier with children and mixed energy levels than a fixed group schedule. Tell us the ages and we will pace it accordingly.
Couples adding the coast. The two-day and three-day Cairo and Alexandria packages extend the trip beyond the capital without an internal flight.
Anyone heading south. The nine-day Egypt tour, or a Cairo package extended by flight or overnight train onto the cruise route.

Before You Book: What to Confirm With Us
We would genuinely rather field five questions now than one complaint later. Ask us about these before you commit:
- The exact price for your dates, your group size and your chosen itinerary, not the lead-in rate.
- What is included in that specific programme: meals, entrance fees, transfers and guiding all vary between packages, so never read across from one tour page to another.
- The running order of each day, which we sometimes adjust for traffic and site opening arrangements. We will tell you what to expect for your dates.
- Anything you want changed. A different pace, an extra site, a later start, a Nile cruise on the end. It is far easier to say so now.
